The Calculated CPA

Lauren Stover

My introduction into public accounting was in 2006 as a temporary tax season assistant that turned into a permanent position when I graduated from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor of business administration degree in 2008. I then went on to complete my MBA from Texas A&M University-Commerce. During these years, I worked in Texas and New Mexico and had the opportunity to serve a variety of clients. My initial CPA licensure was in 2013 in New Mexico. I am currently licensed in Virginia and can work with clients in all states.

Searching for a better work life balance, I left my job at a traditional public accounting firm and launched my own company in 2014.

In November 2020, due to complications of the pandemic, my business had to close. During this phase, I served a term as a volunteer coordinator and as a consultant with a newly formed nonprofit. Additionally, I kept up with my continuing education to stay current on tax laws and what they mean for individuals and businesses.

I am also a mom to a very bright young human and dog, and provide a gracious cat with shelter. In my spare time, I love to read and hike.
